The Difference between Dry Cleaning & Laundered & Pressed.

When you drop off your garments at Nettie Mae’s Dry Cleaning & Garment Care, we sort them into dry cleaning or laundered & pressed orders. Pressed laundry usually refers to blend button-down dress shirts made from cotton, polyester, or a cotton/polyester blend. We can also launder and press other types of material as well. Laundered & pressed garments are always washed in a commercial washer with water and commercial grade laundry detergent. After cleaning, the items are then pressed according to the customer’s preference.

The majority of the items received by Nettie Mae’s Dry Cleaning & Garment Care are dry cleaned. Dry cleaning refers to a process that looks very similar to launder & Press, but instead of using water, it uses a solvent. This is where the “dry” label come from. The clothes are cleaned and dried in the dry cleaning machine, so they go in dry and come out dry. The solvent used at Nettie Mae’s Dry Cleaning & Garment Care is a hydrocarbon based one. This solvent is environmentally friendly, yet tough on grease and stains. So, whether your clothes are dry cleaned or laundered, Nettie Mae’s is sure to keep your garments looking crisp as if fresh off the store shelves.
